Bits 'n Bytes

During the latter half of last week sometime, my brother's server, which hosts my Harleyroads website, as well as my personal site, was hacked. It was done through a script I used on my personal site called Greymatter. Even after I had applied the fix, it was still hacked, so, naturally, I'm a bit peev'd about it.

Now, if you click on the link above that takes you to Shad's Pad, you'll get the 404 error page (but it's a funny one, so click on it anyways). Been talking with my brother this morning, and he's going to help me write a new journaling system (read: He's going to write it...;) So for awhile, looks like I might be posting more than links on LJ.

Over the weekend, we all went to Potomac Mills, along with a friend and her "kids" (she collects children like other people collect baseball cards). The reason for going was that the Spiegal store was going out of business and everything was $20 or less. As that's Gail's favorite mail order catalog, we decided to go. When we got there, I played Hero, and took all the kids (with the exception of the 14 year old) with me, and we wandered. After a couple of hours of "I'm hungry, let's go into that toy store, I'm hungry, can we have cookies..." I decided to head back and find the women, eat lunch, and get back home.

We got back to Marcia's house (the one who collects children) and I proceeded to head down to the basement to blow shit up with Jeff (i.e., play Star Craft). Not 15 minutes into the game, here comes children! (surprise...). These were kids I'd never seen before, and very friendly kids at that: Jumping up and down while holding on to my chair, making me wobble all over the place, pointing out obvious stuff on the screen, even trying to sit on my lap.

Needless to say, Jeff kicked my butt. I hate losing at Star Craft. Combined with the kids driving me up the wall, losing ALL my money at poker the night before, someone using my email address as a return address on a spam mail program and me getting damn near a 1000 pieces of "MailerDeamon-Returned Mail" in my inbox and my website being the cause of my brother's server getting hacked, well, it wasn't a good weekend.

So far, Monday is good though. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way. Only 24 days until vacation!
